Fourth of July 2009: Afternoon

We BBQ'd on the deck.  It was a beautiful day.  After lunch we celebrated Dad's 75th and Cole's 4th Birthday.  Cole just loves Grandpa. He loves to sit on his lap, rub his head, snuggle with him, he even slept by Grandpa on Friday night! He made sure to check with me on Saturday morning to see if Grandpa would be staying all day.  So, it was fun to celebrate them both. Then we all enjoyed Ginger's cake balls (renamed: Fairy Cakes) and ice cream.  Then the real fun began.  Earlier in the day many of had filled water balloons until we couldn't stand it. So we played some water balloon volleyball and had a water fight. The competition continued when the slip n' slide was brought out.  Who could slide the furthest? Game on! Scott L. took the prize with his amazing form that shot him nearly into the farmer's field.  We even used dish soap to really get some distance.  Gabby had more than one mouthful of soap.  We laid out on the warm deck to dry off and Sam decided it was time to give Asher a bath.  Too funny.

This was a fabulous day! We had more fun then I thought you could contain in one day outside of Disneyland. Definitely a new tradition.
